Lionel Richie & Claire Hanson
ASSISTANT TO MR LIONEL RICHIE
It was in 2006 when a request came from Island Def Jam / Universal records for Claire to work with International Artist, Mr Lionel Richie on a shoot for The Sunday Times magazine in London during his promotional trip to the UK.
Like all artists Claire works with, she makes sure every detail is taken into account. Following a great shoot, next on the promotional calendar was ‘The Princes Trust Concert’ at The Tower of London, which Claire was requested again, to attend for Mr Richie. This time she also took it upon herself to make sure, (as she always does when no stylist is present), to check clothing is also immaculate. Her love of everything beautiful and groomed is a natural process for her.
Shortly after this event the management approached Claire to start working closely with Mr Richie for their forth coming European Tour.
Make up & Hair though was not priority, only at TV or press days, the main focus for this role was as Artist Assistant.
The role developed over the years to present day where Claire is now Personal Assistant on all worldwide travel that Mr Richie under takes. Meeting the party upon their arrival wherever it may be on the planet, to all major events, appointments, tours, TV, Press, meetings etc – Claire is always at hand.
Her love for this role is evident in the loyalty she maintains for Mr Richie. She has also worked with various family members including Nicole for her fashion collection and TV’s in Europe.
The natural people skills she possesses, eye for detail and continual growth have blessed Claire with ‘one of the most amazing people I have ever had the privilege to work with. A true gentleman, and utter professional, a delight to work for. I have learnt an incredible amount and feel honoured to share a large percentage of my working life with Lionel and his family’.
